We are committed to creating meaningful, reciprocal contributions within the campus and local communities through programs that provide experiential learning, service opportunities and recognition for sustainability champions.
The Champions for Change Awards recognize individuals or groups who have made significant contributions in the areas of sustainability and/or health and wellness during their time at UF.
Award Categories
Sustainability
- Encompasses efforts made in the areas of waste reduction, water/energy conservation, environmental justice, outreach/engagement, academics, green teams, conservation, trasportation, etc.
Health & Wellness
- Includes efforts made in the areas of physical, social, spiritual, or emotional wellness.
Recent Winners
Sustainability internships are an excellent way to build your professional network and connect with like-minded peers, faculty, and industry leaders who share your passion for sustainability.
Local and on-campus internships often offer hands-on experience in campus and community outreach, empowering you to promote environmental initiatives and inspire others to take action.
Student organizations are a great way to get involved with sustainability on campus. These organizations address sustainability topics in a variety of fields including health, environment, engineering, animals, community and much more!
As a state land grant university, UF has a special obligation to meet the demand for sustainable living practices for the residents of Florida’s 67 counties. UF/IFAS Extension has many award winning resources that facilitate sustainable living!
Resources for Sustainable Living
Sustainably-minded Gators are often eager to volunteer at UF or in the local community! While the Office of Sustainability does not regularly organize volunteer projects, there are numerous resources for those who would like to get more involved in giving back to the community.
