It’s a new school year, which means there are new and fun ways to get involved. There are dozens of student and community organizations that promote sustainability on campus and beyond. Check out the three Student Organizations highlighted below or view the full list here.

• Gators Going Green (@UFGGG)

  Gators Going Green is all about bringing improvements to sustainability on campus through events and policies. If you’re passionate about bringing sustainability awareness on campus through working with Student Government and the student body, this organization is for you.

• Students for New Urbanism (@SNUflorida)
  

  Meetings: 7 pm Wednesdays

  Do you prefer walkable cities? Biking or public transport to cars? Students for New Urbanism (SNU) works to educate and advocate for sustainable cities using the best planning practices. SNU has fun events throughout the year that include field trips to nearby towns, movie nights, and community events promote walkable, mixed-use development. If you’re interested in sustainability and the built environment, this club is for you.

• Gators for Environmental Community Outreach (@GatorsforEnvironmentalCommunityOutreach)

  Are you passionate about the environment and promoting sustainability? Gators for Environmental Community Outreach (GECO) is an action oriented club that strives to educate and inspire students through educational outings, guest speakers, and community projects. Past events have included campus cleanups, guided hikes, and bike repair clinics. Come out to GECO’s informational meeting this Wednesday September 5 if you’re interested in joining!
