Campus Earth Day 2017

On April 12, join us for the UF Campus Earth Day Celebration! This year, the Office of Sustainability and the Reitz Union are partnering to offer an event open to the campus and greater Gainesville community.

Sustainability Showcase
10:00 am – 2:00 pm
Reitz Union Outdoor Tabling Area

Starting at 10 AM, stop by the Reitz Union Outdoor Tabling Area for the first annual Sustainability Showcase:

  • Talk to different student & community organizations with a passion for Earth Day and a strong commitment to sustainability.
  • Catch a screening of the “Story of Stuff” film series. The films are fairly short and will be on display at the Sustainability Showcase. Stay for 1 or 2 or more!
  • Learn about the sustainability efforts on campus and ways that you can get involved!

Keynote Speaker
5:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Doors at 4:30)
Emerson Alumni Hall

At 5 PM, join us in the President’s Ballroom at Emerson Hall for the Campus Earth Day keynote speech. Environmental advocate,TV host, author, and social entrepreneur, Philippe Cousteau will be speaking on the ways he draws motivation from his family legacy to inspire action for a sustainable planet. This event is FREE and open to the public.  Parking is available in the O’Connell Center parking lot after 4:30 pm, and in the lawn on the north side of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
