  • Community Weatherization Coalition – Volunteer Energy Coaches Needed!
The Office of Sustainability is excited to share an opportunity with the Community Weatherization Coalition, a local nonprofit that empowers local residents to conserve resources and save money on their utility bills. This week, you can attend a training where you will learn how hands-on energy tune-ups can help local low-income residents save up to 20% on their utility bills. Learn more about how you can help our community conserve and contribute locally and globally!

The first two parts of this training session will take place at the United Church of Gainesville and the last part will take place on a site for hands-on training. Once you become an energy coach, volunteering with the CWC is flexible! Energy coaches typically volunteer with at least 6 home energy tune-ups per year (each tune-up lasts 2-3 hours and are most often on Saturdays). The Office of Sustainability highly recommends this opportunity to anyone looking to get involved with our local community and see tangible remarkable differences in conserving resources and empowering low-income residents.
